We the Executive Board of Local 576 want to thank you for your continuing support during the Covid-19 pandemic. Each and every one of us has many concerns with living on a daily basis during this health crisis and must practice social distancing, wearing our mask when required and wash our hands. We must continue with all this to protect our families, friends and coworkers.
In January 2021 TWU Locals 570, 572, 574 and 576 will be going into contract negotiations with Envoy Air for Aircraft Maintenance Technicians, Inspectors, Tool And Die Mechanics, Ground Support Technicians, Repairman, Aircraft Cleaners And Inventory Control Specialist.
On September 10, 2020 TWU local presidents met via conference call to discuss upcoming negotiations. The first step in collecting important information from each member regarding contract negotiation is for us to put out an online survey for each member to participate in. We are in the process of finalizing the questions and will be meeting again on September 24, 2020 to complete the survey questions.
On September 16, 2020 your Executive Board had our monthly meeting to discuss local business and continue contract prep discussions along with reviewing the survey questions. The Executive Board has decided to invite Robert Tain our SGF Station Chairmen to this month’s meeting along with last month’s meeting for him to be able to communicate information that was discussed with the members in SGF. We will continue with Robert being invited to all Executive Board meetings.
The Executive Board has discussed and agreed that after we have collected the survey results we will be having our Station Meetings at each Station. We have an Executive Board member in the following out stations XNA-Layne Rasmussen, LIT-David Dobbs, SGF-Robert Tain (Chairman) and LAX-Maurcio Castro (Steward). They have been assigned to find a meeting location large enough for members to attend and maintain social distancing.
We are encouraging each member to attend this meeting because it is very important that we hear from YOU! Please plan ahead and make arrangements to be able to attend your Station Meeting. We are looking into the first part of November and look forward to seeing you along with hearing from you.
